National Association of Remodelers (NARI)

Situation

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) had produced their annual conference (Remodelers Edge) for five years using in-house staff, but ended up burning out volunteers and barely breaking even. Our objective was to come onboard to grow the event in attendance, sponsorship sales, exposure, and profitability, allowing their staff to focus on their job requirements while utilizing volunteers for their connections.

Solution

The Event Group began with a three-year strategic plan, working with the client to identify not only their needs, but the needs of the event attendees and sponsors. Using this information, The Event Group presented an updated format and value proposition. The Event Group's role was to produce an exceptional event that educated and supported professional remodelers. We developed all event marketing material, sold and fulfilled sponsorships, processed registrations, and handled all event management and logistics.

Success

The Event Group doubled attendance numbers, increased attendance revenue by more than 250%, and sponsorship and advertising revenue grew from $6,000 to more than $115,000 in three years. The Event Group not only grew the event in numbers, but also initiated additional value-added events, such as a series of smaller VIP receptions, dinners, and entertainment along with numerous seminars and an exhibit hall. Over a three-year span, The Event Group grew the event so significantly that it was bought by its competition JBL Live.
