Sponsorship Sales Intern

Description


Position Status: Intern
Grade/Level: Unpaid; will work with student on receiving academic credits
Location: The Event Group, Incorporated
Estimated Commitment: 20-40 hours per week, negotiable

Summary
We’re looking for a self-motivated individual willing to actively participate in activities such as sales networking opportunities; someone with strong oral and written communication skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and experience conducting research on the Internet. Prior sales experience and Salesforce CRM knowledge to lead campaigns is a plus and a sincere interest and desire to learn is a must.

 

Requirements


Education
Seeking or obtained an Associates or Bachelors in a Business-related field, Liberal Arts, or IT.

Experience
Sales experience preferred. Salesforce CRM knowledge to lead campaigns is a plus.

Personal Skills/Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interface with The Event Group team, clients, vendor prospects, and the public
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Sales and lead generation knowledge preferred

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficient in CRM sales software is a plus




Responsibilities


  • Research and identify names, phone numbers, email addresses for leads/contacts via phone, Internet, and networking events
  • Assist in logging all new leads, current interactions, and past client updates in CRM database
  • Assist in soliciting new sponsors and exhibitors
  • Participate in planning meetings with clients and assist with the development of marketing material content, such as sponsorship/exhibitor sales prospectus
  • Collaborate on fulfillment of sponsor and exhibitor benefits on-site (e.g., registration of booth/table staff, complimentary tickets).
  • Assist in getting following-up with sponsors/exhibitors for fulfillment and payment.
  • Potential travel to client meetings and prospects.
  • Assist the Event Manager at events as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as requested

Sponsorship Sales Consultant

Description


Position Status: Contractor
Grade/Level: Commission-based
Location: Off-site
Estimated Commitment: 40+ hours per week

Please Note: This position is contract only, off-site.

Summary
The Sponsorship Sales Consultant is responsible for assisting in the development of sponsor and exhibitor benefits packages for clients’ events based on revenue requirements and available exposure opportunities. He or she will sell sponsorships to local, national, and international event partners and manage follow-through on invoicing and benefits fulfillment. This person will also represent the Company on-site at events and manage the show floor and in-person relationship building for future partnerships.

Amount of Travel
Work from own office, attend weekly production meetings at The Event Group’s office, travel to occasional meetings with clients and prospects, assist at event venues as needed, prospect leads at industry events and occasional out-of-state tradeshows.

 

Requirements


Education
4-year degree in sales, marketing, or business preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience preferred
  • 3+ years of event industry, tradeshow, and sponsorship sales experience preferred
  • Conference or trade show management experience preferred

Personal Skills/Competencies

  • Ability to interface with The Event Group team, clients, vendors prospects, and the public

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and generating new sales leads and growth
  • Logging all new leads, current interactions, and past client updates in CRM database
  • Find new leads and make connections within each event’s industry
  • Soliciting sponsors and exhibitors for events
  • Negotiating and executing contracts
  • Participating in planning meetings with clients and develop marketing material content for events (e.g., sponsorship/exhibitor sales packages)
  • Working with Event Manager on exhibitor communication and logistics
  • Working with Decorator on show floor layout
  • Working with Registration Manager to coordinate complimentary sponsorship passes
  • Working with Event Coordinator to hand-off exhibitor coordination
  • Handling fulfillment of sponsor and exhibitor benefits on-site (e.g., complimentary tickets, bag inserts)
  • Working with Accounting to get contracts invoiced and follow-up with sponsors/exhibitors for payment
  • Attending events and assisting with sponsorship fulfillment and networking
  • Other responsibilities as requested

Production Assistant Intern

Position Status: Intern

Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications
Location: The Event Group Incorporated
Estimated Commitment: 20-40 hours per week; negotiable

Summary
The Production Assistant intern is responsible for managing the execution of marketing production projects, the creation and manipulation of digital art, setting type and working with copy, and creating quality deliverables that meet company standards and client needs. He or she interfaces with all members of the marketing team.

 

Requirements


Education + Experience
Pursuing a Graphic Design Degree; 1-2 years in a degree program

Personal Skills/Competencies

  • Close attention to detail

  • Ability to operate under pressure and work closely with teams to meet deadlines

Computer Skills

  • Exceedingly proficient in the use of Mac computers (OS X)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceedingly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Bridge, and Dreamweaver
  • Exceedingly proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Familiar with basic website creation, basic programming structures, HTML, and CSS
  • Familiar with basic pre-press operations/techniques; file preparation, pre-flighting, etc.
  • Ability to accurately differentiate and identify color when printed or on-screen
  • Familiar with the technical aspect of working with RGB, CMYK, and L*a*b* color




Responsibilities


Production

  • Producing printed materials in the form of advertisements, documents, signage, booklets, banners, flyers, posters, mailings, brochures, badges, labels, packaging, and physical objects
  • Creating electronic materials in the form of emails, static websites, dynamic websites, simple animations, presentations, web application interfaces, banners, mobile application graphics, and static television graphics
  • Creating and assembling physical displays, signage, stands, packages, etc.

Creative

  • Brainstorming new ideas and various improvements and creative solutions with creative and marketing teams.
  • Designing, developing, and producing original artwork, layouts, and ideas.

Other

  • Assisting with projects managed by other creative, marketing, and account team members
  • Printing, press checks, color correction, conformity of deliverables to Company style guides and brand standards
  • Other duties as assigned
